What Are The Design Standards For CNC Machining Centers

CNC machining center is a machine used to process metal sheet metal, mold and shell parts. It can complete various processing processes such as drilling, milling and boring, but its price is relatively high and the processing cost is much higher than that of traditional manual machine tools. Therefore, machining centers are required to significantly reduce the processing time of a single product. Therefore, the design of machining center is closely related to its machining efficiency and quality.

  1. High static and dynamic performance. CNC machining center is expensive, and the wear cost in the machining process is much higher than that of traditional machine tools. This requires the machine tool to significantly reduce the the processing time.

  2. Better static rigidity. For CNC machining centers, the structural rigidity of its components such as base, worktable, spindle box, guide rail, etc. It is closely related to the accuracy of the machine tools, so these factors require the machine tool to have high static rigidity.

  3. Less thermal deformation. When the machine tool is cutting, without exception, it will produce heat, which will have an adverse impact on the machine tool, resulting in different degrees of thermal deformation of each part of the machine tool and affecting the accuracy of processed products. However, how to reduce the influence of heat on the accuracy of processed products is a problem to be considered.

  4. The friction between moving parts is little, and the interval of the transmission system is eliminated. The movement of the machine tool worktable is in small units of pulse equivalent. During tool setting or other slow operations, the worktable needs to make an accurate response to the commands sent by the CNC system, which are related to the friction of moving parts.

  5. Long service life and good precision retention. For CNC machining centers, the lubrication system is the guarantee of the service life of a machine tool. Therefore, wear-resistant materials should be selected when selecting guide rails, spindle components, lead screws, etc. So that the machining center can maintain good accuracy for a long time.

  6. User friendly design. In order to save the time of clamping and tool changing, machining centers usually use multiple tool holders and automatic tool changing devices to solve more problems through one-time clamping. Therefore, in the process of clamping and tool changing, manual intervention shall be reduced as much as possible to make the human-computer interaction interface clearer and concise.
